Hotel Indigo - Stratford Upon Avon
A Tudor frame building with a 1960’s extension to the rear. This was a large refurbishment to convert an existing hotel into a 95 bed boutique 4*hotel which included several dining areas, featuring Michelin star chef Mike Robinson’s restaurant, The Woodsman.
This was a challenging hotel refurbishment which completed after two years on site.
Since opening in May 2019 it has been shortlisted for several design awards and has featured in various design magazines.
(This project was completed whilst working as an Associate Interior Designer and project lead at Darling Associate Architects.)
1960’s Bedrooms
This large extension to the back of the Tudor property houses the majority of the bedrooms.
The interior was kept modern and fresh with artwork referencing Shakespeare - with a modern twist.
Tudor Bedrooms
These bedrooms were the most challenging in the refurbishment, with uneven floors and low doorways the design was inspired by the patterns found on the buildings in this historic town.
Georgian Bedrooms
Located in a separate building, although linked through to the main hotel via the garden space, these rooms were inspired by the clock making of the local area.
Cocktail bar
This quaint room with its period features is located just off the main high street entrance.
It serves up a menu of amazing cocktails and an afternoon tea menu to staying guests and day visitors.
The Woodsman
The Woodsman restaurant by Michelin star chef Mike Robinson was designed around the concept of foraging and hunting.
The colour palette used was influenced by nature and natural materials.
The Feasting Room with its rustic features and long dining table is a private dining room with a separate breakfast room next door.
The Oak Bar sits next to the main restaurant and features large oak beams and original cosy fireplaces.
