Indigo Hotel - Bath Spa
Named by IHG as the flagship hotel for the Indigo brand across Europe, this Grade II star listed conversion was four separate buildings converted into one 166 bed boutique hotel.
Featuring six different room styles, each bedroom is a unique shape and size with period features throughout.
Leading a team of designers to deliver this scheme from concept to completion this project was in development for over five years and was very much a labour of love, with many unpredictable design challenges to overcome along the way.
It opened to the public in September 2020.
(This project was completed whilst working as an Associate Interior Designer and project lead at Darling Associate Architects.)

Romance & Mischief
Taking inspiration from the Georgian era of fun and mischief, this bedroom style has a playful twist with a whimsical feel.
Inspired by some of the many past times the Georgian era enjoyed - gambling and love affairs!

Architecture
With so much beautiful architecture in the city of Bath these bedrooms celebrate those decadent features with high ceilings and a large mural ceiling rose artwork above the headboards.

Underground Vaults
So many of the buildings in the city of Bath feature similar underground vaults which were originally used for coal storage and as a general service area for each building.
With lots of drying out and preparation work they were finally transformed into four cosy suites for guests to enjoy.

The Ladies House
This unique house hosts 12 bedrooms and sits at the end of the terrace row.
With its own entrance, as well as being linked to the main hotel, the design was kept simple, taking reference from beautiful home interiors from the Georgian era.

Garden Extension
With a new extension to the rear of the main building, these eight bedrooms all face out onto a landscaped courtyard with floor to ceiling windows.
The design was influenced by the Georgian style paintings of the 1800s with lots of modern twists thrown in.

Literature Inspired
With a low ceiling on the top floor, these snug sized bedrooms were designed to celebrate the famous literature that has been written in Bath over the years.

Reception / Lounge
Decadent and in keeping with the building style the interior was designed to enhance the existing features while including lots of modern pieces all referencing back to Georgian times.
